Large Vintage OCEANFRONT Painting on Canvas-BULKHEAD & ROCKS-Signed P. MEADE-NR

For sale is a striking 20. C painting on canvas of an ocean bulkhead, signed P. The framed picture measures 37 5/8 inches wide by 23 1/2 inches tall; the actual canvas is 36 inches by 22 inches. The painting shows a wooden bulkhead with a sandy beach and seaweed-covered rocks in the foreground.

It seems to have a strong morning light coming from the left, with part of the scene in shadow. MEADE in the lower right.

I have not been able to trace this artist. It is framed with four simple strips of red painted wood screwed to the sides of the stretcher. Condition on the picture is fairly good.

There are some minor paint losses, mainly in the lower left, and it seems to have a light yellowed varnish, probably from smoking or pollution.
