Presenting an exceptionally large and impressive antique Japanese Satsuma Moriage vase. This perfectly proportioned piece has been masterfully hand painted with vibrantly coloured scenes featuring two elaborately dressed Geisha girls to one face and a male figure to the opposing side. Raised white and gold Moriage enamels adds fabulous definition to the design while beautifully enhancing the tactileness of this impressive piece. Striking decorative bands trim the neck and foot creating a perfectly balanced and wonderfully harmonious piece which is a delight to behold. Ornate figural dragon heads form twin handles to opposing sides of the vessel perfectly completing this impressive Oriental work of art.

WEIGHT: This substantial piece weighs 1.055 kgs unpackaged. CONDITION: This stunning piece is presented in good condition with light signs of age which rather enhance the charm of this authentically antique example. There is one small graze to the top rim which has darkened with time along with a few small nibbles to the rim of the foot. There is overall crazing to the body with some minor staining within the crazing in parts. There is some wear to the gilt gold detailing as is to be expected with a piece of this period.This striking example displays exceptionally well. MARKS: This piece is beautifully signed to the base with a brushed black character as depicted in the images.
