Presenting an exceptionally large and impressive antique Japanese Satsuma Moriage vase. This perfectly proportioned piece has been masterfully hand painted with a vibrantly coloured scene featuring elaborately dressed Emperors to opposing sides of the body. Raised white and gold Moriage enamels adds fabulous definition to the design while beautifully enhancing the tactileness of this impressive piece. Striking geometric shapes form detailed bands which elegantly trim the foot, shoulder and neck of the vessel while blossom flowers perfectly balanced the exotic design.

Figural dragons finished in matte gold form twin handles to opposing sides of the vessel. Ornate tassels spill from each handle and stylishly flow onto the body of the vessel.

IMPRESSIVE ANTIQUE JAPANESE SATSUMA MORIAGE VASE. SIZE: This impressive example stands approx 310mms tall and measures 160mms in diameter. CONDITION: This stunning piece is presented in as found condition with light signs of age which rather enhance the charm of this authentically antique example. There are several chatters and a few shallow chips to the slightly uneven, rough to the touch top rim along with two shallow chips to the edge of the base. There is overall crazing to the body and a few small spots of wear to the gold finish on the dragon handles.

This piece displays very well as is but is more than worthy of professional repair if the new owner so choose. MARKS: This piece is beautifully signed to the base with a brushed red character as depicted in the images.
