A beautifully detailed oil on canvas depicting a full length portrait of a girl reading a book as she descends the steps of a country house front entrance. The fair-haired girl wearing an exquisitely painted pale blue dress with gold detailing and holding a large format open book. Signed and dated to the lower step,''F. Leighton 1893'' , h oused in a fine original composition frame , ready to hang.
The condition appears to be excellent and original with no overpainting nor restoration. The signature and date also appears to be contemporary with the painting.
