Daniel Sherrin was born in 1868 in Brentwood, Essex, the progeny of John Sherrin, an artist known for his still life works.Daniel was a pupil of the esteemed landscape artist B. Leader, immersing himself in the realm of landscape and marine painting. His early works bear a resemblance to the maritime art of Thomas Somerscales and Montague Dawson. However, Sherrin found his true calling in landscapes, often depicting the idyllic scenes of Suffolk and Norfolk's countryside.
