Antique Old 19th c. French Impressionist Still Life DOG Oil Painting, Signed
This is wonderful and charming Antique Old 19th c. French Impressionist Still Life Dog Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a miniature pinscher asleep on a silk brocade pillow, wearing an ornate collar and lying next to a red velvet cloth and unusual porcelain flowerpot. A stairwell is visible in the background, suggesting this pup slept downstairs. Signed illegibly in the lower right corner.

Actual artwork is approximately 20 1/4 x 29 1/2 inches. This piece approximately dates to the second half of the 19th century. Very good condition for age, with some light craquelure in some areas and mild scuffing and edge wear to the original period gilded frame. A very old triangular black smithed hanger is mounted to the verso of the frame, which I have only ever seen on a French painting that I previously owned.
