This is an antique Japanese large sake jug from the late Meiji Era c. This one is 13.5 tall and covered on two sides with very decorative calligraphy. It is all hand made and fired at high temperatures for lasting durability. It has the name of the sake company?? Yoshinuma (see third picture) and their logo (see picture 1).
Is the general term for a sake bottle. This large ceramic sake jug measures 6" in diameter by 13 1/2" tall (15 x 34 cm) and remains in fine condition It is high fire glazed both inside and out.
Great as a stand alone piece of art with calligraphy. It weighs almost 7 lbs.
