U S around early to mid 1800's. The artist was known for landscape painting. An impressive painting depicts a harsh and stark winter conditions. In 18th century England (see back). Painting looks to have been restored sometime in the 70's. And a change of frame and & also a heavy board to cover the back.

(I have not removed the board at back due to its age). Overall size: 30 x 35 in. Sight size: 24 1/2 x 29 1/2 in. Areas of in painting at the lower right at tree and some repair see images. There is some craquelure at the top & bottom.
