For your consideration is this large vintage Watercolor in Walnut Frame. The painting depicts a rural setting with the main focus on a tobacco barn. I was told the family collected tobacco barn art in the 1970's era and I believe this to be a setting in North Carolina. This colorful artwork i s in beautiful condition and has been professionally matted and framed.

The painting is signed in the lower right corner W. Jefferson and there are three initials R. On the mat at the lower left.

We have been unable to find any information on this artist however, it is fair to say he or she was quite an accomplished painter. It is housed in a wonderful solid walnut frame with its original finish in very fine condition. The intricate frame has many steps and grooves with a small cove and the outside edge is worked as well (see images). The frame is strong with tight corners and very minimal vintage wear (see images).

This is a large piece measuring 38 7/8" wide, 31" tall and 1 3/4 deep framed. A lovely well cared for original painting and frame sure to complement that special place! This is one of several pieces from this collection we will be listing so please check out our other listings!
